Getting heritage restoration right is about appropriate product selection. When it comes to heritage brickwork the wrong product can be a total disaster as in many, if not most cases, brickwork contributes overwhelmingly to the visual appearance of the facade. The critical aspects to get right is to match both the colour and the texture of the original brickwork, and in many cases only the colour is matched resulting in a finished facade that degrades both the original heritage brickwork and the new restoration. Below is a good example of 2 extruded bricks (bottom 2) designed for heritage restoration in which only the colour is right, compared to our heritage brick (top) in which both the texture and colour is correct.
