Bricklayers have been building curved walls for centuries using standard rectangular bricks. By carefully adjusting the mortar joints and setting out the radius correctly, ordinary bricks can follow a smooth, consistent curve without the need for specially shaped units.
For tighter curves, narrower bricks or carefully cut units may be required, but for many applications, good planning and skilled brickwork are all that’s needed. Curved brickwork isn’t a new innovation—it’s part of a craft we’ve practised for generations.
The build here using our Jerusalem White bricks shows how curves of any radius can be done, from relatively wide radius curves done on the upper story to extremely tight curves done on the bottom level.
