Ochre is a richly textured handmade waterstruck brick characterised by warm, earthy tones and the beautifully irregular character that comes from traditional brickmaking.

Its colour palette moves through burnt ochre, soft terracotta, muted orange, clay brown and dusty russet, with occasional charcoal, grey and darker firing flashes adding depth and variation. Subtle traces of lighter mineral deposits and surface markings further enhance the naturally aged appearance.

Made using the traditional waterstruck technique, each brick carries its own individual texture. Soft creases, drag marks, small pits, imperfect edges and gentle dimensional variations ensure that no two bricks are exactly alike. Rather than appearing manufactured and uniform, Ochre develops a wonderfully tactile, almost time-worn quality.

The warm clay tones make Ochre particularly suited to contemporary Australian architecture, Mediterranean-inspired homes, country residences and renovations where an authentic handmade character is desired. Paired with a light or off-white mortar, the warmer oranges and ochres become more prominent, while darker mortar can produce a moodier, more grounded façade.

Ochre is a brick designed to celebrate variation rather than hide it, combining the warmth of traditional terracotta with the individuality and texture only a genuinely handmade waterstruck brick can provide.
